Hello!

We did it, we made it to winter break! The students were really feeling the energy by the end of the week.

I sent home their work packaged on Wednesday. Some students let me know if they wanted printed copies of their report cards. Let me know if you are also interested in one. Otherwise all grades are on MyEd. Try to get those folders back after the break.

This week we worked on finishing our social studies timeline, by looking at the Canadian railway and Residential school system. Students then created their own timeline of the 9 most important events they thoughts on for Canada.

Our White Elephant gift exchange was a lot of fun. Most students did pretty well with it, and after everyone opened their gift, there was a lot of trading.

We also made 3D snowflakes for art, large ones for the class, and small ones to take home.

Our pancake breakfast on Friday went well, with a lot of our students helping volunteer serve the food. After we played holiday music bingo, then watched Wall-E and had snacks and hot chocolate in the afternoon. It was a very tiring day.

When we come back in January, we will learn about division and remainders in math, write about our holiday in language arts,  learn about Rube goldberg machines for science, and start our government unit in social studies.

Hope everyone has a lovely two weeks off, and see you next year.
