Hello!
Hope everyone had a nice long weekend.
In math this week we learned how to put fractions on a number line. We use number lines to help compare fractions with different denominator. Most students did pretty well with this, though it took a little practice.
In language arts we worked more on similes and metaphors, first by finding them in the Grinch song, then by making acrostic poems about ourselves, this time using more poetic devices.

We finished off our human body presentation on Tuesday, then presented to the class Wednesday. Most showed a good amount of information, though some were a little too silly. They are on the students google drive if you want to see their work.
We also finished off our French all about me posters, they look amazing.

On Friday we went over setting our price for the young entrepreneur project. We took our $cost, divided by our total units, to find our price per unit. We then looked at our market research to think of a good price to sell our product at. Then we looked at how many products me must sell at that price to cover our cost, and how each item after is profit. I talked with some students about splitting their product into smaller containers to make more units, as they wouldn’t make a profit unless they sold all but 2. Not leaving much room for error.
We also worked on wall posters for the fair, showing our product and price. These are additional posters for those not able to make one at home.
Next week is the big fair, I will be emailing out more information on Monday about what we need. Students have an opportunity to sharing their product at the assembly on Monday if they want. We will also be working on some rainbow poetry and fraction sets in math. Its going to be a very busy week.
Have a nice weekend and see you Monday.
