Hello!

Wow that felt like a long week, must have been because we were so busy.

In math we reviewed our place value unit and took a test of Friday. Students did very well with the final, with 3 students getting everything correct, and over half the class getting 90%.

We were busy in language arts this week. First students wrote about their Halloween or their weekend.  Then we learned more about Remembrance Day, and wrote a couple of paragraphs about that.

In social studies we learned about the forestry industry,  specifically clear cutting. We learned about the pros and cons of this method of logging. We also started to look at fish farms, and today learned about the benefits and negative impacts they have. Most students have finished their mining project, with half the class finished their forestry one.

In science we worked more on kinetic and potential energy by creating paper roller coasters. Almost all the students finished,  but I will make a video next week for those few students still finishing theirs.

Im art we created some giant poppies for our Remembrance Day display.

Next week we have our assembly on Monday, Tuesday will be a day off, and back on Wednesday.  We will finish off our mini resource projects and write an essay in social studies.  We will review single digit multiplication strategies (array, skip counting, break up) in math. We will also start our simple machines unit in science. Twin day is also on Thursday, I am trying to convince everyone to shave their head, we will see. Going to be an interesting week.

Have a good weekend, and see you Monday.
