Hello!
Our first full day back, and wow we were busy.
We started out fractions unit in math, by discussing what fractions are: pieces of a whole. We reviewed that the bottom number is the denominator and represents the total number of pieces, as well as the top number being the numerator which represents the pieces we are focusing on. We looked at comparing fractions as well using a number line. We did so well with our review, we had our quiz early.
In language arts we worked more on simile and metaphor, comparing ourselves to animals and objects. We created I Am poem flip books, but most were not completed by Friday, so we will have yo finish next week.
We finished off our human body inquiry slide shows. They look great! We will be presenting next week.
We spent most of our week working on our family heritage projects. Most have completed the majority of the project. Students have been encouraged to work on family trees and photos over the weekend to finish off our displays next week.
Next week will be a short one. Spencer will visit on Wednesday for a small presentation. We will learn about haiku poetry in language arts, presenting our science, and finishing off our heritage projects. The open house will be 1 to 330 on Thursday. The classroom will be open for those wanting to browse what we have been working on from 1130 to 5.
