Hello!

Good to see everyone back for another full week, we started a couple of units, while almost finishing others.

In language arts we focused more on descriptive writing and Proofreading. We wrote about our weekend, focusing on the who, what, where, why, when, and how. We then practiced proofreading our own work using highlighters.

In math we practiced using the box method for multiplication, separating our place values, cross multiplying, and adding our numbers back up. Students did pretty well with this, though there seemed to be a little confusion about how many zerosnthey needed to move.

In science we learned all about the pulley. We practices using a pulley to lift a load, and then built our own pulleys to take home. Students seemed to really enjoy playing with their pulley.

In social studies we started our look at government, focusing on the levels of government in Canada: municipal,  provincial, and federal. We learned that each level has their own jobs and duties, as well as specific leaders and members. We created posters to represent each job.

In art we looked at some Ted Harrison landscapes, and created our own, showcasing a natural resource.

In french we looked at numbers 1 to 60, using a guide to complete a worksheet, and do some basic addition and subtraction.

Next week we are going to learn long multiplication to practice more 2 by 2 digit equations, continue adding more details to our wiring in language arts, have a quiz in levels of government and start learning about types of government in social studies, investigate the wheel and its benefits while also building win cars in science, and.play some french bingo. Going to be a other full week.

Have a good weekend, and see you Monday
